CH VIGNOT 2005
Bordeaux
750 ML (Standard)
Bordeaux,
France
$59.99
A stunning deep color mark this red wine, with floral, dark berry and spicy notes on the nose and palate. The mouthfeel is complex with subtle oak elements and integrated tannins in the finish. Château Vignot’s vineyards are located near the village of Saint- emilion, on the foothills, or pieds de côtes, of the Côtes de Saint-emilion. Situated on the right bank of the Dordogne River in Bordeaux, the terroir consists of 12 different soil types ranging from the hard limestone of the upper Côte de Pavie, to the sandy clay and gravel of the silica-based bench soil below. With high amounts of silica in the soil at the base of the Côte de Pavie, the grapes on these old vines ripen somewhat earlier than nearby vineyards. The clay and sandy gravel soils in the valley yield a wine with a deep color and silky texture that is feminine and fruit forward. Saint-emilion has long been recognized for its ability to produce wines of outstanding quality and the Château Vignot vineyards are no exception.
